Hayle Mayor Slams Boundary Changes

The Mayor of Hayle says proposed boundary changes by
Cornwall Council could leave large areas of the town and surrounding
area without effective representation in County Hall. Plans under
consultation would see one Cornwall Councillor representing most of
Hayle, and another the huge area of Gwithian, Connor Downs, Eastern
Hayle and the area to the south of the town.  read more »

180101 | St Ives County Constituency proposed | Bounday Commission

Boundary Commission Proposals 2018

32
Due to the small electorate of the
existing St Ives constituency, we propose
that it is enlarged along the coast to
incorporate the entirety of St Ives Bay
and the town of Hayle, with which there
are close geographic and communication
links. Similarly, due to the small electorate
of the existing Camborne and Redruth
constituency, exacerbated by moving
Hayle to the proposed St Ives constituency,
we propose that it is also enlarged along
the south coast to incorporate the towns
of Falmouth and Penryn. Consequently,
our proposed name for the constituency
is Falmouth and Camborne.

180122 | Boundary Review | Connor Downs to be cut in half?

This map is one to be considered by Cornwall Council Boundary Review Panel, it recommends that Connor Downs on the north side of Turnpike Rd and Horsepool Rd be included in a division that would be in reality Hayle North and residents living on the south

We were told by the Boundary Commission and Cornwall Council that there would be consultation on the new Cornwall Council Electoral Divisions. However it seems that the only bodies being seriously consulted are Cornwall Councillors and certain town councils.
This map is one to be considered by Cornwall Council Boundary Review Panel, it recommends that Connor Downs on the north side of Turnpike Rd and Horsepool Rd be included in a division that would be in reality Hayle North and residents living on the south side of the road be incorporated into what would really be Hayle South.  read more »

You have probably seen that I am standing for Cornwall Council in Hayle South Ward which of course includes Anagarrack.

I have today posted my leaflet to all the Angarrackians who are postal voters so that they should receive my leaflets at the same time as they get their voting papers next week.
