New Shops in Hayle

Going against the trend and with two fingers up to the recession, Hayle continues to have new shops opening .At the moment there are no empty premises the length of the high street..This shows the confidence in Hayle that people are prepared to invest despite a national down turn in the economy.

Here are a few of these entrepreneurs:

Dale’s Café

Dale's Cafe, HayleAt the recreation ground Steve and Dale have taken on the café. They had previously been in the pub trade in Derby, but naturally their new customers are a lot younger, and so now they are specially catering for all the skateboarders, offering hot and cold snacks as well as low priced kid’s specials. All day breakfasts are a favourite with taxi drivers and holidaymakers alike.

Rozamund Vernon also helps out especially now with the summer holidays when they will be open from 10am to 6pm.

Crumbs Farm Shop

Crumbs Farm Shop, HayleWhat a great place to set up shop The view over Phillack is superb, the shop is ideal, the people friendly and wanting to buy local produce Previously Crumbs was set up as a cake and gateau business that supplied wholesale only.

A shop became available in Fore Street, Copperhouse which seemed purpose made and I wondered (with fingers crossed) whether there was enough footfall in Hayle to have a shop that sold just cakes. A friend suggested that I sold fresh fruit and vegetables, and from that day, Crumbs Farm Shop was born.

It’s been a couple of months now since I opened and although still early days, the shop is doing well. I’ve met some super people who have given me input on what they would like to have in the shop as well as having gained a lot of knowledge about how to keep the perishable stock fresh.

The shop has gained a chiller cabinet which means Crumbs Farm Shop now has a selection of Cornish cheeses, paté, drinks, cold meats, milk and cream.

To say that I am proud of the shop is an understatement but mostly I’m grateful to all those customers who want to support a local person selling local produce.

My thanks to them and all the people who have put Crumbs Farm Shop on
the map.
