HAYLE PENWITH U3A:

Hayle U3A has the following programme this week.  Today, Thursday August 18, at 10am there is History then at 2pm the Social event "A Celebration of Hayle U3A's 20th Anniversary" takes place.  On Tuesday August 23 at 10am there is Art and at 2pm Poetry Reading. All sessions except Writing are held in the Philip Smith annexe to the Hayle Day Care Centre.  The Writing is held in Hayle Library.

PHILLACK CHURCH HALL:

Every Tuesday at 11:30am ZUMBA GOLD with Catherine, come along and have some fun.  Call 017436 711926 for more information.

HAYLE HERITAGE CENTRE:

Hayle Heritage Centre is now open for the summer season on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays between 11am and 4pm.  They are based on Foundry Square, on the historic site of Harvey's Foundry, and offer an insight into Hayle's rich social history. There will be screen printing workshops on Monday August 22 and Friday August 26 from 10am to 12noon and 12.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 5pm.

Suitable for age 8+ (children must be accompanied by an adult), £6 / £3 per child per session. Fun workshops for beginners to explore screen printing from scratch, led by local printmaker Dena O'Brien. Have a go at mixing colours and making stencils to create a range of colourful prints, inspired by Hayle's Industrial Heritage. Print the design onto card and a tote bag to take home! Hayle Heritage Centre will be launching its new exhibition on Monday August 22, with displays uncovering four principal parts of Hayle's rich past: The Foundry, Shipping, Shops and J&F Pool. The exhibition runs until the Heritage Centre closes in October and will be open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 11am-4pm. FREE ENTRY.

ST ELWYN'S CHURCH:

On Thursday August 18, Jasperian Theatre Company presents Summer Time Revue a fun evening for all featuring stage and film actors Tony Jasper and Linda Slade. Music, games and sketches. 7.30pm. Tickets £5. One child free with accompanying adult - other children (up to 14 years) half price.

On Sunday August 21, the Parish Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Clifton at 9.30am. On Wednesday August 24 Said Eucharist will be celebrated by the Reverend Sharon Chalcraft at 10am.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served after each service.

PHILLACK CHURCH:

On Wednesday, August 24, from 12noon until 5pm Phillack Open Tower Day takes place with bell ringing, trips up the tower, cream teas, etc.;  church and churchyard talks and tours.

ST.JOSEPH'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, HAYLE:

St Joseph's Church in Hayle is part of the Roman Catholic Parish of the Holy Family. Father John said the Sunday Mass on Saturday at 6.30 pm 20th WEEK in Ordinary time (C2 Psalter 4) The Year of Mercy/The Assumption of the blessed Virgin Mary.

Mass in Hayle on Friday August 19 at 10am.

Joining Father John, Father Bernard Waave, a Holy Ghost father, gave a gospel and missionary lesson and thanks. He also made a retiring collection for their work over 50 nations across the globe. Father Bernard also appealed for us to continue praying our rosary.
