George welcomes expansion to breast cancer services in Cornwall

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has today welcomed the news that breast cancer services in Cornwall will be expanded to meet growing demand. 

In 2018/19 a total of 42,000 people were seen by Royal Cornwall Hospital’s breast services, which includes 25,000 women through the screening assessments as part of the National Breast Screening Programme.

George welcomes new sea wall at Portreath

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, has today welcomed news that repairs to the sea wall at Portreath have finally been completed. As many residents are aware, the sea wall was considerably damaged during Storm Emma early last year. Since then George has been working with the Parish Council and Environment Agency to help ensure that repairs to the sea wall are completed.

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has today called for a shakeup of the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) and for its Chairman, Professor Alan Manning, to be replaced when his term ends in November.

The MAC is a non-statutory body that has over the last 12 years guided the government in a series of key decisions on its migration policy but it’s proposals on post Brexit immigration policy have caused widespread disquiet

George visits Blue Flame

A Cornish MP has praised one of Cornwall’s leading heating companies for its commitment to reducing fuel poverty, as well as its apprenticeship programme.

George Eustice, MP for Camborne and Redruth, visited Blue Flame Heating at its Penryn headquarters on Monday (April 8th).

During the visit, George spent time with three of Blue Flame’s four directors and founders, Mark Bolitho, Paul Smith and Debbie Smith, and had a tour of the company’s facilities.

George Eustice welcomes additional rail services for Cornwall

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has today welcomed the news that fourteen additional rail services from Plymouth and Penzance will be introduced on Monday 20th May.

The news came as network rail confirmed plans that they would also be introducing new longer trains amounting to an additional 4,200 seats every weekday, with further increases over the summer.

George attends Trevithick Day celebrations

On Saturday, George Eustice MP attended the annual Trevithick Day celebrations in Camborne. The days commemorates the achievements of Richard Trevithick, which epitomise the contribution made by Cornwall to the Industrial Revolution.

Hundreds of school children, families and members of the community came together. There was a parade which included a replica of the Puffing Devil, which is always the star of the show.
