Cornwall set to receive vital funding for search and rescue equipment

George Eustice, Member of Parliament for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has today welcomed the news that Cornwall Search and Rescue Team is set to receive a funding boost of £33,862.87. 

The funding will be directed towards essential search and rescue equipment that will help teams like that in Cornwall continue their essential work of lifesaving every day. Since launching in 2014, the Rescue Grant Boat Fund has provided £5.7 million to 104 charities around the UK.

George Eustice, Member of Parliament for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has welcomed news of a new record high employment rate of 76.3% with the unemployment rate not lower since 1974. Wage growth has continued to outpace inflation for the 22nd consecutive month.

Contributing to the plummet in overall unemployment, women continue to benefit most from the thriving UK jobs market – with 317,000 more entering work in the last year alone to reach a record high.

Government fulfils promise to veterans with new railcard

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has welcomed the news that Military veterans will get cut-price train travel to help boost job prospects and bring them closer to family and friends, with a new railcard on sale from Armistice Day.

Available from Armistice Day this year, the railcard will extend discounted train travel to the more than 830,000 veterans not covered by existing discounts.

George welcomes extra funding for Devon and Cornwall Police

George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle has welcomed news that Devon & Cornwall Police will receive an extra £23.4 million to tackle crime and keep our streets safe - an increase of £7.4% from last year. 

The Government have announced an increase of up to £1.1 billion for police forces throughout England and Wales, to ensure our police can focus on keeping communities safe.
