George meets new Principle of Cornwall College

Cornwall College has a deep-rooted history in our area and has been at the heart of all further and higher education in Cornwall for the last 80 years or so. Recently, George Eustice, MP for Camborne, Redruth & Hayle took the time to meet the new Pincipal of Cornwall College, Dr Elaine McMahon alongside Dr Ian Tunbridge who's Chair of the Governors at the College.

Finn's Law

Last Friday, in his role as a Defra Minister, George Eustice MP, was responsible for helping to support one of these Private Members Bills. The Bill has been introduced by the Hertfordshire MP, Oliver Heald and has been dubbed "Finn’s Law". It has the support of the government and last Friday gained the support of the House of Commons and now moves to the next stages in the House of Lords.

George backs Safer Internet Day 2019

On Tuesday 5th February 2019, millions across the UK and globally will be celebrating Safer Internet Day. Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, the day is a great opportunity to talk to family and friends about the respectful, responsible and creative use of technology.

George Eustice, local MP  for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle recently met Amanda Stratford, Chief Executive of Healthwatch Cornwall to discuss a number of issues relating to health care. 

With the NHS Long Term Plan and the Government’s proposals for social care both due to be published before the end of the year, this is a very important time for health and social care. These latest changes will significantly alter the way people use local hospitals, GPs and care services.

George meets NEA Heat Hero Award Winner

George Eustice, Local MP for Camborne, Redruth and Hayle, recently attended the National Energy Action Heat Heroes awards event to hear about the great work that is being done locally to help those who are vulnerable and suffer from fuel poverty.

At the event, George met Karen Leach, Energy Wise Caseworker at Community Energy Plus who has done some fantastic work helping vulnerable people in the constituency.

George Eustice MP has today welcomed the launch of the Government'. 10 year NHS Plan. The NHS Long Term Plan is a new plan for the NHS to improve the quality of patient care and health outcomes. It sets out how the £20.5 billion budget settlement for the NHS, announced by the Prime Minister in summer 2018, will be spent over the next 5 years.

Christmas Card Competition 2018

As in previous years, George ran a competition with local primary schools to design his Christmas card. Schools from across the constituency entered in what was a fantastic year for entrants. Local children really rose to the challenge with some fabulous artwork. As always, the panel of judges had a very difficult task.
