White storks have been launched within the wild within the hope they may breed in Britain for the primary time in centuries.

The birds have been hunted to extinction in medieval instances, however now 24 juveniles are flourishing after being launched on the Knepp ‘rewilding’ undertaking in West Sussex on August 12.

Eight have GPS tags and one has travelled so far as the Hayle Estuary in Cornwall, pictured.
