A drive to work ice warning has been issued for Cornwall.

The gritters have been out across the Duchy overnight, with the risk of frost.

Drivers are being urged to take extra care, in case some rural roads have not been treated.

The Met Office has also tweeted to say drivers across the south-west might need ice scrapers on Monday morning.

Forecasters say the cold weather is likely to linger over the next couple of days, with the risk of freezing fog too.

According to Devon Live, Meteorologist Alex Burkhill says the mercury could stay below freezing most nights this week.

"It is going to be a very cold few days, that is for sure.

"Temperatures have not dropped as quickly as we were expecting but they will still fall.

"Temperatures will be as cold as -5C or -6C across Devon and -4C in Cornwall on Monday night.

"The next couple of days we will see lows of -4C or -5C most nights".
