Angarrack Chapel

The new chapel (replacing the outgrown Wesleyan Chapel of 1843) was built in a quarry near the Smelting House. The Foundation Stone was laid by Captain Peter Perry of Lelant on Saturday 16th August 1873.

Angarrack Chapel opened on Good Friday 10th April 1874. A Sunday School was built on in 1889 and Vestries addd in 1926.

Angarrack Chapel will be found just as you enter Angarrack from the Hayle roundabout. It is a small but well decorated and warm building.

Morning services take place each Sunday morning at 11am. All are most warmly invited to join us. We are happy to arrange Christenings, Weddings and Funerals.

Special services are conducted for Harvest Festival – morning service at 11am and an evening service at 6pm. This always takes place on the last Sunday in September. The celebrations continue on Monday evening at 7pm with Songs of Praise followed by Pasty Supper and sale of surplus produce.

We also have a special service for Christmas when there is a service of Christmas carols and bible readings. This takes place at 6pm on a Sunday nearest to Christmas and is followed by mince pies and tea/coffee in the Hall. This event, of course, coincides with the Christmas lights in Angarrack.

The Hall at the rear of the building has become the Community Hall and is run by the Community Association. During the week this is used by the Montessori School on 3½ days; an Art Group on Wednesday afternoons and on Fridays by the Association for coffee mornings and a craft club on alternate weeks. The evenings are well used by various other groups.
