Hayle Celebration Day
Hundreds of people flocked to celebrate Hayle and its community this weekend.

Visitors and residents of Hayle lined the King George V memorial walk for the sixth annual Hayle celebration day.
The event is held every year to celebrate the town of Hayle, its young people and the community.

Margaret Tanner, organiser of Hayle celebration day, said: "We were blessed with amazing sunshine and hundreds of people turned up to celebrate Hayle and their community."

The event ran from 12 noon until 4pm with Hayle town councillor and Leader of Cornwall Council John Pollard as the master of ceremonies.
Residents and visitors were treated to music, dance, water sports and stalls including ones raising money for various charities, selling hot food and ice cream and as well as having some stalls for children.

Mrs Tanner continued: "A huge thank you to each and everyone who came and who contributed in any way to the event.

"It was an amazing day to enable people to meet old friends, make new ones and this helps to form a more cohesive society."

Preparations for next year's event will start in September.
