Consultation Summary
Cornwall Council is inviting comments on a proposal to reduce the speed limit to 30 mph along sections of High Lanes and Viaduct Hill, Hayle, together with the introduction of traffic calming features.
Background:
As part of the ongoing residential development of land off of Viaduct Hill, the developer entered a Section 278 agreement (Highways Act 1980) to ensure pedestrian safety along High Lanes by the proposed reduction of the speed limit to 30mph. Further, to ensure compliance of any new limit, traffic calming features are also proposed.

Scheme Objectives
To ensure the safety of vulnerable road users by reducing vehicular speeds within the vicinity of the new development.
